Our Code of Ethics: 

All our staff commit to taking an ethical approach to their childcare practice, policies & procedures, & by providing a positive role model for children, parents and carers.

 

Our Code of Ethics - Professional Values, Principles and Behaviour

Each & every member Wiz Kidz Inc Nursery staff commit to meeting the following principles and values:

 

I will uphold principles and values by taking an ethical approach to my childcare practice, policies and procedures and providing a positive role model for children, parents and carers. To achieve this, I will:

 

1. Follow and promote the principles for the children’s workforce.

*         The welfare of the child is paramount.

*         I contribute to children’s care, learning and development and this is reflected in every aspect of my practice.

*         I work with parents, carers and families who are partners in the care, learning and development of their children and are the child’s first and most enduring educators

 

2. Follow and promote the values of the children’s workforce.

*         The needs, rights and views of the child are at the centre of my practice.

*         Individuality, difference and diversity are valued and celebrated.

*         Equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice are actively promoted.

*         Children’s health and well-being are actively promoted.

*         Children’s personal and physical safety is safeguarded, whilst allowing for risk and challenge as appropriate to the capabilities of the child.

*         Self-esteem, resilience and a positive self-image are recognised as essential to every child’s development.

*         Confidentiality and agreements about confidential information are respected as appropriate unless a child’s protection and well-being are at stake.

*         Professional knowledge, skills and values are shared appropriately in order to enrich the experience
of children more widely.

*         Best practice requires reflection and a continuous search for improvement.

 

3. Make sure that my practice is in line with the following ethics:

*         Honesty – being truthful, straightforward and sincere in my dealings with others.

*         Integrity – acting in line with my beliefs and values, keeping to moral and ethical principles.

*         Transparency – being open in my communication and prepared to explain myself.

*         Reliability – being able to be relied on or dependable.

*         Accountability – answerable for my decisions and actions.

*         Confidentiality – not disclosing personal information to a third party, except where it is in the interests of children in my care.

*         Objectivity – fairness to all parties and not taking sides.

*         Respectfulness – valuing others views, beliefs and behaviour.

*         Lawfulness – following relevant laws, regulations and guidelines.

*         Reflection on my practice – carefully considering and monitoring what I do and why, to make sure that it is in the best interests of the children in my care.

 

4. Strive to provide a high quality childcare service that aims to support each child to achieve her or his potential.
